Social Assistance and Issuance of Civil Status Documents to IDPs from Nassoumbou to Leo

Kampti: A delegation from the municipality of Nassoumbou, led by the prefect, president of the special delegation (PDS), Mr. G. Vincent Dayamba, carried out a solidarity mission to Leo on Tuesday for the benefit of internally displaced persons (IDPs) from Nassoumbou, in order to inquire about their living conditions and to provide multifaceted support.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the delegation, composed of the secretary general, the accountant, and the municipal administrator, held an introductory meeting with internally displaced persons (IDPs), during which several concerns were addressed, including those related to food, civil registration, and financial empowerment through income-generating activities. In his remarks, Mr. Dayamba urged the IDPs to strengthen social cohesion, foster community spirit, and support the efforts undertaken to reclaim the national territory.

Following the discussions, the delegation conducted a mobile court hearing, issuing birth certificates and supplementary judgments to the beneficiaries. They also distributed dignity kits containing items such as tents, tarpaulins, blankets, cooking pots, basins, buckets, charcoal stoves, and kettles. Washing machines were also provided to young people to support their empowerment.

Through this initiative, the head of the special delegation reaffirmed the determination and unwavering commitment of the municipal authorities to support the displaced people of Nassoumbou during this difficult period, with the aim of ensuring their well-being and preparing their future return to their places of origin.

The mission concluded with a courtesy visit to the administrative and traditional authorities of Leo, to express the gratitude of the municipality of Nassoumbou for the welcome and hospitality extended to its sons and daughters.
