Solenzo: The Non-Formal Basic Education Center (CEBNF) in Solenzo held an open day on Monday, May 25, 2026, to showcase its activities and the learners’ productions to the local community.
According to Burkina Information Agency, this event was organized to promote socio-professional integration of young people and strengthen community empowerment. The initiative aimed to highlight the center’s achievements, the talents of the learners, and the variety of training courses available.
Under the chairmanship of Sanfienale Joseph Sirima, the High Commissioner of Banwa province, the open day focused on promoting non-formal education and raising awareness about its role in local development. A notable highlight of the event was a fashion show by students, featuring models of the traditional “Koko Dunda” loincloth.
The CEBNF presented its offerings in three sectors: mechanics, welding, and cutting and sewing. Products crafted by the learners were displayed, demonstrating the practical skills acquired at the center. Martin Gninasse, the center’s director, noted that many young girls and boys trained at CEBNF have successfully established their own workshops.
High Commissioner Sirima encouraged the center’s leaders to continue their mission with perseverance, acknowledging the challenges they face. He urged parents, community leaders, and technical and financial partners to support CEBNF in fulfilling the aspirations of young people in Banwa province.
