Fada n’gourma: The governor of the Goulmou region, Ram Joseph Kafando, officially launched the operation of SOTRACO buses in Fada N’Gourma. This event, held in the presence of the first vice-president of the special delegation of the commune of Fada N’Gourma, Ernest Natama, and other regional, provincial, and communal administrative authorities, marks a significant step in enhancing the urban transport infrastructure in the region.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the deployment of SOTRACO buses is part of the Burkinabe authorities’ strategy to provide a modern, accessible, and safe transport system for the population. The long-term plan includes the operation of seven lines that will serve various districts of the city and the inter-communal link between Fada N’Gourma and the commune of Yamba. Currently, ten buses have been deployed for urban transport, with five lines already operational.

Ernest Natama, the first vice-president of the special delegation of the commune, emphasized the benefits of SOTRACO’s presence, highlighting the potential to ease road traffic, reduce transport costs, and improve travel conditions. He urged citizens to utilize the bus service, noting that it would help reduce congestion and enhance road safety.

Ram Joseph Kafando, speaking on behalf of the Goulmou population, expressed that the arrival of SOTRACO fulfills a long-standing demand from the community, including students, workers, and other users. He praised the vision of national authorities and SOTRACO’s management for extending services across Burkina Faso. The governor called on residents to embrace the initiative, adhere to usage rules, and ensure the project’s success.

After his address, Kafando inaugurated SOTRACO’s activities in Fada N’Gourma and participated in a ceremonial bus ride, symbolizing the commencement of the service.
