Koudougou: The celebration of the International Day of the African Child, on June 16, 2026, at the Place de la Nation in Koudougou, provided an opportunity for about one hundred vulnerable children to receive the AES biometric identity card (CIB) free of charge.

According to Burkina Information Agency, child protection was central to the activities held for the International Day of the African Child in Koudougou. At the Place de la Nation, a show of solidarity was evident as more than 100 CIB-AES (Child Protection Information Cards) were distributed without cost to children in distress, thanks to the funding from the Terre des Hommes Project.

The initiative was acknowledged by the High Commissioner of Boulkiemd, Salimata Ouedraogo/Sanou. Police Lieutenant Oumarou Savadogo, who leads the ONI-Nando agency, highlighted the significance of this identity document. He encouraged parents to fulfill their responsibilities by acquiring the CIB-AES for their children, which is essential for exercising their rights and integrating into society.
