Ouahigouya: The Ouahigouya health district officially inaugurated the new maternity ward of the Health and Social Promotion Center (CSPS) in Soumiaga, marking a significant milestone for the village, as observed by AIB on site. This modern facility was made possible through the contributions of two of the village's native sons.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the High Commissioner of Yatenga Province, Pierre Claver Bance, who represented the Governor of the region at the event, praised the initiative. He noted that it aligns with the national authorities' vision for local development. "His Excellency the President of Burkina Faso has always insisted on the need to mobilize local resources in order to effectively meet the needs of the population. The commitment of El Hadj Yacouba and El Hadj Sayouba Ouedraogo, both sons of the village of Soumiaga, has made it possible to equip the CSPS with a modern infrastructure which improves capacities and offers a better working environment for the healthcare staff," Bance stated.
Lucien Amos Lankoande, the prefect and president of the special delegation of the Ouahigouya municipality, expressed his satisfaction with the project's completion. He emphasized that the new maternity ward is well-equipped to address the essential needs of the community.
