Tougan, The High Commissioner of the Sourou province, Salif Traoré, officially installed on Monday October 23, 2023 in Tougan, the new Provincial Director (DP) of Water and Sanitation, Météo Malo, in his functions.

The new Provincial Director (DP) of Water and Sanitation, Météo Malo officially took office on Monday October 23, 2023 in Tougan, capital of the Sourou province, in the Boucle du Mouhoun region.

He replaces in this position the outgoing DP, Mahamadi Koudougou who spent 3 years 8 months at the head of the management.

According to the spokesperson for the agents, the modesty, humility, simplicity and hard work of Mr. Koudougou made it possible to restore a climate of trust between the agents and the partners and to achieve very appreciable results.

To listen to him, these achievements focus, among other things, on awareness-raising actions for students, associations and internally displaced persons (IDPs) on hygiene and sanitation, the effects and causes of climate change.

He specified that awareness raising also focused on the fight against logging, the implementation of the reforestation program and the recovery of degraded lands and the reforestation campaigns.

For the outgoing director, Mahamadi Koudougou, many challenges remain to be addressed in the field of the environment in the province of Sourou. Also, he invited the agents to maintain the same collaboration with his successor for the success of his mission.

The first person in charge of the province, Salif Traoré, for his part reassured the new DP of Water and Sanitation, Météo Malo of the support of the administrative authorities in achieving the expected results.
