Special Delegation Leads Sanitation Operation at Bittou’s Medical Center

Bittou: The special delegation is conducting a sanitation operation at the CMA. As part of the Days of Patriotic Commitment and Citizen Participation (JEPPC), the special delegation of the municipality of Bittou conducted, on Saturday, a sanitation operation within the Medical Center with surgical unit (CMA), with the participation of the population and public services.

According to Burkina Information Agency, from the early hours of the morning, public service employees, members of the special delegation, students, and defense and security forces, armed with rakes, brooms, and wheelbarrows, descended upon the CMA courtyard for intensive cleaning and weeding. This initiative is part of the launch of the 2026 edition, phase 3 of the Patriotic Engagement and Civic Participation Days, initiated by the highest authorities in the country.

The operation aimed to improve the sanitary conditions at the CMA in order to provide a cleaner and healthier environment for patients and their companions. It also contributes to the prevention of certain diseases, particularly malaria, by eliminating weeds and areas conducive to mosquito breeding.

Present at the event, the President of the Special Delegation (PDS) of Bittou praised the enthusiasm and strong participation of the local population. He expressed his satisfaction with the civic mobilization and the spirit of solidarity observed. The PDS also urged residents to adhere more closely to presidential initiatives aimed at strengthening civic engagement and citizen participation in local development.

For his part, the chief medical officer of the Bittou health district, Dr. Bourama Ouattara, thanked the authorities for choosing his facility to host this event. He also praised the participants' turnout. "It is a great joy for us to welcome everyone to the CMA, a public institution open to all," he said.

According to the organizers, this cleanup day made it possible to clean a large part of the CMA courtyard, thus considerably improving the living environment for users. Through this initiative, local authorities aim to promote a culture of hygiene and civic responsibility, while strengthening social cohesion through concrete community development projects.
