Ouagadougou: The special delegation is examining several strategic issues for municipal development. The special delegation of the commune of Niaogho held its second ordinary session of the year on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, under the chairmanship of its president, Karim Sana.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the discussions covered several issues related to local development, including the enhancement of tourist heritage, the strengthening of municipal governance, and the promotion of women’s empowerment. At the opening of the proceedings, the president of the special delegation (PDS), Karim Sana, welcomed the mobilization of the members of the municipal body as well as that of the various actors invited to this statutory meeting. He expressed his gratitude for their constant commitment to the development of the community before urging them to continue their efforts in service to the people.
The session began with the review and adoption of the minutes of the previous meeting. After reading, amendments and observations from participants, the document was adopted unanimously. The members of the special delegation then attended a presentation on a project to protect and promote the tourist sites of the municipality. Presented by Ali Lougu© and translated by Mariame Guebr©/Compaor©, this communication highlighted the tourism potential of Niaogho as well as the opportunities offered by its sustainable exploitation in terms of local economic development, cultural promotion, and job creation.
As part of strengthening its internal bodies, the special delegation proceeded to elect the chairman of the Economic and Financial Affairs Committee. Following consultations, Emmanuelle Guebr© was appointed to chair this strategic committee responsible for monitoring the budgetary, financial, and economic issues of the municipality. The participants also reviewed and adopted a resolution concerning the allocation of a 1,500 square meter space for the benefit of the women of the municipality. This site is intended to house a Women’s House, an infrastructure that will serve as a framework for training, exchanges, meetings, and income-generating activities for the benefit of women’s organizations.
According to participants, this initiative will help strengthen women’s economic empowerment and promote their full participation in local development. At the end of the work, the members of the special delegation reaffirmed their commitment to continue concerted actions aimed at improving the living conditions of the population and promoting harmonious development of the municipality. The session ended in a climate of responsibility and consensus, with the commitment of the various actors to work harder to achieve the development priorities of the commune of Niaogho.
