Stallions Triumph Over Sharks with 4-1 Victory in World Cup Qualifiers


El Jadida: Following the victory of the Burkina Faso Stallions over the Djibouti Sharks (4-1) this Friday afternoon at the El Abdi stadium in El Jadida, the vice-president of the Burkinabe Football Federation (FBF), Rahim Ou©draogo, expressed optimism about the national team’s performance and future matches. Ou©draogo stated that the team “is halfway there and hopes to take the maximum number of points” in the upcoming match against Guinea-Bissau scheduled for Monday.



According to Burkina Information Agency, Ou©draogo shared his satisfaction with the outcome of the match and highlighted the successful integration of new players during the training camp in El Jadida, Morocco. He noted that with this victory, Burkina Faso now occupies second place in their group. The vice-president emphasized the importance of their next match in Guinea-Bissau, expressing hopes to secure as many points as possible.



The match against Djibouti was a part of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, held at the El Abdi stadium in El Jadida, a city situated approximately 108 kilometers from Casablanca and 187 kilometers from Rabat in Morocco. Ou©draogo underscored the team’s objective of collecting six points during this phase, acknowledging the tight schedule with only 48 hours to prepare for the next game. He reiterated the necessity of avoiding mistakes, citing that the current group leader, Egypt, is four points ahead. Ou©draogo conveyed his confidence in the team’s ability to recover well and return home with maximum points.
