Ouagadougou: Strong popular mobilization around the N'YIBITEN community project: At the call of the provincial coordination of women of Soum and the young initiators, the population of Djibo mobilized strongly to support the implementation of the community project N'YIBITEN, which means "let's rebuild" in the Fulfulde language, thus demonstrating its commitment to the reconstruction of the city.
According to Burkina Information Agency, this citizen initiative aims to rehabilitate essential infrastructure in a spirit of solidarity, social cohesion, and community participation. To this end, more than 100 loads of sand and mixture were brought to the work site, transported using carts, and dumped within the grounds of the Djibo municipal police.
Nouh Tamboura, the representative of the project's initiators, stated that this massive mobilization illustrates the enthusiasm and support of local populations for this ambitious project, which offers hope for the revival of the city. The ongoing work includes the construction of the municipal police perimeter wall and the municipal high school perimeter wall.
As a reminder, the N'YIBITEN community project was officially launched on Sunday, December 7, 2025, by the High Commissioner of the Soum province, Wend-Nere Wilfried Tougma, in the presence of representatives of the municipal authorities.
