Nobere: A delegation led by the High Commissioner of the Soum province, Mr. Wend Nere Wilfried TOUGMA, alongside Captain Poignard, commander of the 22nd Rapid Intervention Battalion (BIR 22), conducted a supervisory visit to the civic and patriotic training site.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the program, which commenced on January 26, 2026, in the Soum province encompassing Djibo, Arbinda, and Kelbo, gathers over a thousand students mainly from middle school grades. At the Djibo Provincial High School, about nine hundred students are engaged in this second edition of the program, following a similar initiative organized in 2025 for high school graduates.
The students expressed pride and satisfaction with the transformative changes they are experiencing through the various modules offered in the program. The High Commissioner acknowledged the program's satisfactory results and emphasized the importance of continued progress. He commended the staff for their dedication and advised the participating students before joining them in reciting the activity's slogan: "DISCIPLINE TODAY, STRONG NATION TOMORROW!"
Captain Poignard praised the efforts of all contributors and reminded the students of the necessity for Burkina Faso to cultivate new citizens, prepared to defend their country. The visit concluded with a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction from all parties involved.
