Technical Education Observations at Bassy High School in Ziniare


Ziniare: The representative of the Oubri region to the Presidency of Faso, Boureima Sawadogo, paid a visit on Thursday to the Bassy High School in Ziniare. The visit focused on the multi-purpose classes, particularly those in automotive vehicle maintenance and refrigeration and air conditioning.



According to Burkina Information Agency, the project manager spoke with the heads of the multi-purpose classes before visiting the workshops of the two programs. He observed that more than fifty students share the cafeteria, which is being used as a workshop. Mr. Sawadogo expressed that the purpose of the visit was to congratulate the staff for their efforts and the results achieved since the creation of the structure.



In light of the performances recorded despite the constraints, the project manager praised the commitment of the teaching staff. He compared them to the Volunteers for the Defence of the Homeland (VDP) and promised to pass on their grievances to the relevant authorities.



Present at the visit, Acha Kabore, a former student specializing in automotive maintenance, spoke about the training conditions she received. Despite challenges, she achieved the highest national ranking in automotive maintenance at the 2024 National Excellence Awards, expressing gratitude to her teachers.



The head of works at the establishment, Issaka Ouedraogo, highlighted that the high school operates in a borrowed building with limited classrooms. Despite this, they have achieved noteworthy results, advocating for improved working conditions and the opening of a vocational baccalaureate.



Created in 2017 by the Burkinabe government, the multipurpose classes aim to integrate vocational training into general education establishments to promote youth employability and strengthen technical and vocational education.
