Ouagadougou: The 2026 Annual Conference of Educational Supervisors (CAEP) of the Nakamb region opened Wednesday in Tenkodogo, under the chairmanship of the High Commissioner of the Boulgou province, Domgbguiere Constantin Dabir, representing Governor Yiy Abraham Somdo.
According to Burkina Information Agency, For four days, from September 23 to 26, educational supervisors from the provinces of Boulgou, Koulplogo and Kouritenga are working on the theme: "Development and exploitation of integration situations".
In his opening address, Mr. Dabir reiterated that the CAEP (Conference of Academic and Professional Development) is a key framework for capacity building, harmonizing practices, and improving teaching tools. He emphasized that the goal is to ensure that knowledge acquired in the classroom is transformed into practical skills, enabling learners to apply their acquired knowledge to solve real-life problems.
The secondary theme focuses on the "decolonization of knowledge and the endogenization of history, geography and civic and moral education curricula", with the aim of further anchoring learning in the socio-cultural, historical and heritage realities of Burkina Faso.
The High Commissioner urged participants to be diligent, punctual and constructive, so that the conclusions of the work could be directly applied on the ground.
For his part, the regional director of preschool, primary, and non-formal education for Nakamb, Pierre Bourbila Silga, indicated that this edition is taking place within the context of ongoing curriculum reform and the gradual implementation of new curricula based on the Integrated Pedagogical Approach (IPA). This dynamic will extend to the middle school level in the 2026-2027 academic year.
'Educational reform takes shape neither in documents nor in speeches, but in professional practices and in classrooms,' Mr. Silga asserted. To this end, he urged supervisors to strengthen their understanding of the new guidelines, to support teachers in identifying their difficulties, and to work with them to find solutions adapted to the realities on the ground.
The work should also promote the sharing of experiences between the three provinces, through practical exercises, analysis of real-life situations and the pooling of best practices.
Mr. Silga concluded by reiterating that the achievements of the CAEP must be reinvested in schools, with the ultimate goal of improving the quality of learning. The authorities commended the commitment of educational stakeholders and technical and financial partners who are supporting the transformation of Burkina Faso's schools.
