Ouahigouya: Students from the Marie Reine College in Tenkodogo contributed to the Faso Mªbo initiative by donating 18 bags of cement and sachets of water to workers involved in laying paving stones, before participating themselves in the field work.
According to Burkina Information Agency, as part of the presidential initiative for the sanitation and beautification of cities, students from the Marie Reine College in Tenkodogo mobilized resources to support the paving work underway in the municipality of Tenkodogo.
Student representative Ramata Zoungrana highlighted that this action reflects a spirit of patriotism and civic participation. "We saw that our country launched an initiative to build streets and beautify our living environment. This motivated us to contribute to participate," she explained.
The students thus collected contributions which enabled them to offer 18 bags of cement and sachets of water for the workers mobilized on the construction site.
Beyond the material donation, the students also took part in the activities, dedicating several hours to collecting paving stones alongside the teams present.
The initiative by the students of Marie Reine College reflects a commitment to improving the living environment and promoting the values of solidarity.
For Ramata Zoungrana, this action also aims to raise awareness among young people. She called on other students and citizens to get more involved in community actions.
'We invite all students and all citizens to contribute, because this is a collective effort. When the streets are improved, the entire population benefits," she said.
This active participation of students takes place in a context where the authorities encourage the involvement of the population in local development initiatives, particularly through sanitation and urban planning actions.
By getting directly involved on the ground, the students put their words into action, providing concrete support for efforts to improve urban infrastructure.
The actions of the students of Marie Reine College illustrate the ability of young people to get involved in initiatives of public interest, in addition to institutional efforts.
This gesture of solidarity and civic participation demonstrates the commitment of young people to contribute to local development and the promotion of a healthier living environment in the municipality of Tenkodogo.
