The Catholic Community of PS Celebrates the Feast of the Assumption

Bal: The Catholic community of PS celebrated the Feast of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary on Saturday, August 15, 2026, during a mass said at the Catholic center of PS by Father Dominique Balbon, who came from the diocese of Tenkodogo. Many faithful took part in this Marian celebration, one of the most important in the Catholic liturgical calendar, in an atmosphere of fervor and contemplation punctuated by the songs of the three choirs of Moor, Bwaba, and French that make up the community.

According to Burkina Information Agency, in his homily, Father Dominique Balbon illuminated the meaning of the feast. Drawing on readings from the "Book of Revelation" and the "Letter of Saint Paul to the Corinthians," he invited Catholic faithful to see in Mary the sign of hope given to every believer and that in her the promise made to all Christians is already fulfilled. He also called on the faithful to make the Virgin Mary a model of humility and trust in providence, urging them to intensify their prayers for peace in Burkina Faso.

Before giving his final blessing, Father Dominique Balbon urged the faithful to bear witness to their faith in their daily lives.
