Oubri: The Regional Directorate of Communication, Culture, Arts and Tourism (DRCCAT) of Oubri held a consultation forum with journalists and communicators from the region on Tuesday in Ziniar©. Placed under the theme: “DRCCAT Oubri and the actors of the media and communication: getting to know each other better for a synergy of effective communication action in the region”, the meeting served as a framework for exchanges on the current issues of information and communication.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the regional director of communication, culture, arts and tourism, Ti©ridjia Haoua Traor©, invited media actors to strengthen their collaboration with the Regional Directorate of Communication, Culture, Arts and Tourism of Oubri in order to improve the population’s access to reliable and quality information. Discussions focused in particular on the professionalization of the sector, access to information and the fight against disinformation.
She reaffirmed DRCCAT’s commitment to supporting the media, strengthening the capacities of professionals and promoting ongoing dialogue based on trust and local development, while valuing culture and domestic tourism. For their part, the participants emphasized the need to strengthen capacities and promote the sharing of experiences. They also raised the difficulties related to access to resources and the coverage of activities by decentralized state services.
All stressed the importance of dialogue and collaboration to address the challenges related to the recognition of media work, their remuneration, and professional relationships.
