Koudougou: The Muslim community of the Boulkiemde province held a donation ceremony on Friday at the Faso-Mªbo site in Koudougou, in support of the presidential Faso-Mªbo initiative, AIB observed on site.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the donation raised by Muslim worshippers consists of 600 tons of granite, 3 tons of cement, 2 tons of rice, 5 twenty-liter containers of oil, and 27 shovels. In addition to this material support, a financial contribution of 100,000 FCFA has been made to support the working conditions of those involved in the project.
The community spokesperson, El hadj Issa Semde, stated that this support aims to provide Faso-Mªbo workers with the necessary resources to effectively pursue their daily activities, while contributing to the development of the "city of the Red Rider" and the Nando region.
The ceremony began with a prayer and blessings made by the Imam for Burkina Faso, the national authorities headed by the President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traore, as well as all the actors involved in Faso-Mªbo.
El Hadj Semde reiterated that this commitment is part of the presidential initiative. He specified that since the appeal made during the project's launch in Koudougou, Muslim faithful have increased their prayers and concrete actions to support this vision of nation-building.
The ceremony was presided over by the Secretary General of the region (SGR), Mr. Lucien Guenguere, representing the Governor. He was accompanied by the High Commissioner of the province, Ms. Salimata Ouedraogo/Sanou, the representative of the Presidency of Faso, Pema Florent Neya, and members of the steering committee, including Captain Boubacar Compaore.
The SGR expressed its satisfaction with this gesture of solidarity. While commending the ongoing prayers for peace, it thanked the donors for this substantial material support. Mr. Guenguere also invited all the sons and daughters of the region to draw inspiration from this example of civic engagement.
The ceremony ended in a spirit of fervor, reaffirming the Muslim community's determination to remain an active partner in the Faso-Mªbo initiative.
