Several hundred people gathered on the morning of Sunday July 02, 2023 at the Place de la Nation de Titao to support the authorities of the Transition.

At the call of civil society organizations, several hundred people converged early in the morning of Sunday, July 02, 2023 at the Place de la Nation de Titao.

On the placards one could read “Together, let us support the Transition to defeat terrorism”, “Support for Captain Ibrahim Traoré” or see effigies of Ibrahim Traoré, President of the Transition alongside the Russian President.

In the allocations, the speakers affirmed their support for the Transition. In addition, the demonstrators called on the national authorities to further secure the locality.

“Until then, we can’t take another step out of the town of Titao, without being worried. All outcomes are risky. » declared a speaker before continuing: « We therefore invite President Traoré to further strengthen security in the locality by consequently equipping the Defense and Security Forces and the volunteers for the defense of the homeland ».

Another speaker called for securing access roads to ensure free movement of people and goods and a return of the administration.

Around 9 a.m., the demonstrators had walked the main arteries of the city before returning to the Place des Nations chanting slogans of support for the authorities of the transition.

The city of Titao faces armed terrorist groups. Initiatives are however deployed by the Defense and Security Forces supported by VDP auxiliaries to ensure the supply of the locality and restore security.
