Sourou: The League of Students of the Sourou Province reaffirmed on Thursday, January 22, 2026, its support for the President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traore, on the occasion of the raising of the colors, organized in reaction to the recent attempted coup. The Tougan Students' League (LET) expressed its support during a flag-raising ceremony held at the second site of the Tougan provincial high school.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the president of the League, Aubin Zongo, addressed the gathering, citing the unique challenges of the new year. He highlighted a context in which destabilization, manipulation, lies, and betrayal attempt to infiltrate consciences. Zongo emphasized the school youth's support, admiration, and commitment to the President, and acknowledged the crucial role of the intelligence services in maintaining national security.
The Tougan Students' League also took the opportunity to welcome the new Minister of Secondary Education and Vocational and Technical Training, Moumouni Zoungrana. They called for his commitment to quality education in Burkina Faso. Additionally, the League extended New Year's greetings to the educational community of the Sourou province and the Burkinab¨ people.
