Tenkodogo: Subscribers of the Cooperative Society with Board of Directors of the Agency for the Promotion of The village of Saala enthroned its new leader, Donibè II, in a significant ceremony that brought together customary, administrative, and religious authorities.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the event took place in the commune of Dissihn, Ioba province, where Mètuolè Téonyèro Judicaël Kpoda was officially installed as the village chief, assuming the regnal name Donibè II. The ceremony was led by His Majesty Kob-Ib II, Chief of the Dissihn canton, and was attended by various traditional and customary chiefs, along with representatives from government bodies and the local community.
The Minister of Trade, Industry, and Handicrafts, Gnaniodem Serge Poda, was represented at the event, which was also attended by the retired Director General of the Motor Vehicle Control Center (CCVA), Mathieu Hien. His Majesty Volkoulgnour Tang IV, Chief of Hermon from the Republic of Ghana, participated as the g
uest of honor, accompanied by a delegation from Nandom, Ghana.
Before his enthronement, the new chief participated in a Eucharistic celebration, dedicating his future leadership to divine guidance. Local dignitaries highlighted that his great-grandfather, a former chief of Saala, played a key role in introducing the Catholic religion to the area.
Father Samson Poda, in his homily, encouraged the newly appointed chief to emulate King David from the Holy Scripture, emphasizing leadership for the prosperity and development of Saala. The enthronement involved customary rites, after which Donibè II committed to fostering social cohesion and unity among the village’s inhabitants.
Chief Kob-Ib II and co-sponsor Mathieu Hien, along with other elders and traditional leaders, offered their guidance and blessings to the new chief. His Majesty Volkoulgnour Tang IV presented a symbolic gift and shared governance advice focused on wisdom and unity.

he balafon’s rhythm and performances by local artists, celebrating the new era under Chief Donibè II’s leadership.
