National armed forces: Colonel-major Kassoum COULIBALY receives his attributes as Brigadier General

The President of the Transition, Head of State, Supreme Head of the National Armed Forces, Captain Ibrahim TRAORE chaired this Monday, October 30, the ceremony of official handing over of the attributes of Brigadier General to the Minister of State, Minister of Defense and Veterans, Kassoum COULIBALY.
“Brigadier General Kassoum COULIBALY, I give you the insignia of your rank.” It is with this established formula that the Supreme Chief of the National Armed Forces, Captain Ibrahim TRAORE, proceeded to wear epaulettes and present the beret of Brigadier General to the Minister of State, Minister of Defense and Veterans Affairs.
After receiving his insignia, the new general officer expressed his gratitude to the Head of State and renewed his availability and unfailing commitment to implement the instructions relating to the defense sector, so that our country recovers all its territorial integrity and begins its development in complete sovereignty .
General COULIBALY also dedicated his nomination “to all the Combatting Forces and particularly to the memory of all these valiant soldiers, personnel of the internal security forces and VDP who fell as heroes for the honor of the Fatherland”.
To all the populations who are suffering the horrors of war, the minister in charge of defense reassured them "that these stripes will not be stripes of rest", because he said "I have understood the message and the mission of the President of the Transition : achieve the set objectives as quickly as possible, that is to say the liberation of the national territory”.
The ceremony took place in pure military tradition in the presence of active general officers and the second section, officers, Army Chiefs of Staff and collaborators.
As a reminder, it was on October 27, 2023 that the President of the Transition, Head of State, Supreme Head of the National Armed Forces issued a decree elevating Colonel-Major Kassoum COULIBALY to the rank of Brigadier General.
