T©nado Health District: Promoting Traditional Medicine for Sustainable Health Sovereignty

T©nado: The T©nado Health District's Days of Excellence, held on June 25 and 26, placed a strong emphasis this year on promoting traditional medicine in order to ensure sustainable health sovereignty.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the closing ceremony brought together administrative, health, traditional, and religious authorities, technical and financial partners, as well as numerous guests. Held under the patronage of the High Commissioner of the Sangui© province, Talari Germaine Ouoba, and chaired by the Prefect, President of the Special Delegation of the T©nado commune, Asm¨de Dianda, the ceremony marked the culmination of several days of activities dedicated to promoting excellence in the health sector.

This edition was placed under the theme, "two knowledges, one health: uniting traditional and modern medicine for sustainable health sovereignty", a theme which highlights the complementarity between traditional and modern medical practices in order to strengthen the health system for the benefit of the population.

Talari Germaine Ouoba paid a heartfelt tribute to healthcare workers for their daily commitment. She praised the quality of services provided to the population and emphasized the importance of promoting traditional medicine alongside modern medicine to effectively address health challenges.

The Chief Medical Officer of the T©nado Health District, Dr. Hamado Sawadogo, expressed his gratitude to the administrative authorities for their ongoing support. He also commended all the healthcare workers for their professionalism and dedication to serving the population.

A highlight of the ceremony was when several Head Nurses of Posts, members of the district management team and health facilities received letters of congratulations and certificates of recognition in reward for their performance and commitment.

The Zamo Medical Center distinguished itself by being named the best healthcare facility in the T©nado Health District. In addition to a certificate of recognition, it received a financial reward as an incentive.

The 5th edition of the T©nado Health District Days of Excellence was sponsored by Bali Nagalo, a traditional healer.

Through this closing ceremony, the T©nado Health District reaffirmed its commitment to promoting a culture of excellence, recognizing the efforts of health actors and strengthening their commitment to providing ever more efficient and accessible healthcare to the population.
