Johannesburg: The municipality of Tougo launches the process of establishing the municipal youth advisory council: The special delegation of the municipality of Tougo organized an information and exchange meeting on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, with young people and leaders of youth organizations regarding the establishment of the municipal youth advisory council. This initiative aims to promote inclusive youth representation in the municipality's consultative bodies.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the meeting, held in the Tougo town hall's reception hall, was chaired by the president of the special delegation (PDS), Boureima Souley. Also present were the first vice-president of the special delegation, Ouedraogo/Belem Relwind© C©cile, the head of the Employment Opportunity Referral Service (ROPI), Karim Ou©draogo, the town hall's general secretary, Elisabeth Zinsoni, as well as numerous representatives from youth associations and organizations.

In his address, the PDS presented the objectives of the municipal youth advisory council, as well as the application requirements and selection criteria for future board members. He emphasized the need for youth organizations to nominate committed and credible individuals to ensure the smooth operation of this new body.

'We want a Youth Advisory Council made up of responsible, dynamic and committed women and men, capable of addressing the concerns of young people and supporting the development of our municipality,' said Boureima Souley.

The mayor also urged associations to nominate candidates of high moral character and impeccable reputation. He stated that the quality of the members would determine the effectiveness of the future council in facilitating dialogue between young people and local authorities.

To facilitate the application process, individual information sheets were distributed to participants during the meeting. Furthermore, the municipal authorities appealed to all youth organizations in Tougo to widely disseminate information and encourage young people to apply.

The objective is to create a representative, inclusive and balanced office, bringing together women and men capable of contributing to the promotion of youth civic participation and to the search for solutions to the challenges they face.

Candidates have until the end of the day on Friday, July 24, 2026, to submit or complete their application to the Tougo town hall.
