Tuy Celebrates Second Anniversary of AES with Call for Unity and Adherence to Roadmap

Hound©: As part of the celebration of the second anniversary of the Confederation of Sahel States (AES), the High Commissioner of the province of Tuy, Issiaka Segda, delivered the message of the President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traor©, inviting the people to adhere to the roadmap of Year II of the Confederation.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the message was read during the flag-raising ceremony at the Tuy provincial headquarters of the national police. The message highlighted the creation of the Alliance of Sahel States on September 16, 2023, and the subsequent formation of the AES Confederation on July 6, 2024, as a testament to the shared commitment of Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger to collectively address security challenges.

The message emphasized the ambition of the three states to establish a space founded on solidarity, sovereignty, and shared responsibility. The second anniversary is seen as a symbol of hope, resilience, and renewal for the peoples of the confederation.

The President of the Confederation paid tribute to the fighting forces, patriots, and families affected by terrorism and insecurity. He acknowledged the significant progress made by the Confederation in political cooperation, diplomatic coordination, security, free movement of people and goods, and economic integration, despite various pressures.

'These achievements are the result of a deep conviction that none of our states will be truly strong if the others remain fragile,' he stated. Addressing ongoing challenges, the President denounced disinformation campaigns and attempts to destabilize the AES. He called for vigilance, discipline, solidarity, and a strong work ethic to preserve these gains and urged the peoples of the confederation to embrace the roadmap for the second year.
