Ouagadougou: The Tuy Provincial Directorate of Preschool, Primary and Non-Formal Education (DPEPPNF) celebrated the achievements of the most deserving students and teachers for the 2025-2026 school year on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, during the provincial day of excellence.
According to Burkina Information Agency, student Abdoul Ch©rif Sawadogo from Founzan 'A' school was awarded the prize for the best candidate in the Primary School Certificate (CEP), which included a bicycle and a school kit, for his outstanding average score of 9.89 out of 10. Claudine Da from Hound© 'D' school received the super teacher award, consisting of a motorcycle and a certificate of merit, for achieving a 100% success rate in the CEP with her class of 79 students.
In total, approximately 86 award winners were recognized for their exceptional performance in school examinations. Tuy Province achieved a pass rate of 98.38% on the Certificate of Primary Education (CEP) and 84.67% on the certification assessment of non-formal education, securing the top position in the Guiriko region.
Ladji Ouattara, the provincial director of preschool, primary, and non-formal education for Tuy, attributed these impressive results to the dedication of the entire educational community. He emphasized the importance of maintaining this dynamic of excellence for the benefit of both present and future generations, highlighting the initiative's focus on promoting a culture of effort, merit, and excellence.
Niki©bo N'Kambi, president of the National Union of Cotton Producers of Burkina Faso (UNPC-B), who sponsored the event, expressed his pleasure at being selected and commended the teachers for their dedication. He also encouraged the award recipients to persevere in their efforts.
The ceremony, presided over by Issiaka Segda, the High Commissioner of Tuy Province, included expressions of gratitude towards various education stakeholders and the presentation of prizes to the winning teams of a football tournament organized by the provincial education authority.
