S©no: The Secretary General of the Sampelga Town Hall, Pawelgba Compaor©, representing the President of the Special Delegation (PDS), launched on Wednesday in Dori, literacy and specific technical training activities of two centers called "local governance of non-formal education" on behalf of the municipality of Sampelga.

According to Burkina Information Agency, this initiative is part of an innovative approach being experimented in 45 pilot municipalities across Burkina Faso, including Sampelga. The goal is to enhance the involvement of local authorities in managing and promoting non-formal education.

The launch ceremony saw the attendance of Abdoulaye Bokoum, head of the Sampelga Basic Education District (CEB), along with other local and provincial education officials. During the event, the Secretary General expressed gratitude to the education authorities for selecting his municipality for this initiative. He encouraged students to show diligence and determination while urging the operator to offer effective support to the beneficiaries.

The head of the CEB highlighted the need for coordinated efforts among various stakeholders to address the delay in starting activities. He noted that the centers are commencing their courses a month after the official literacy campaign launch. The learners will undergo a certification assessment in April 2026, a vital step in validating their acquired skills.

The Association of Young People for the Contribution to Development of Sampelga (AJCDS) has been appointed as the operator responsible for implementing literacy activities in Fulfulde and Gulmacema languages. Nearly 60 learners are enrolled across the two centers.

Through this initiative, Sampelga municipality emphasizes its dedication to non-formal education and capacity building within local communities, aiming for inclusive and sustainable local development.
