Two Sites Selected for Tchriba Municipal Cemetery

Tchriba:The municipality of Tchriba is progressing in its plans to establish a municipal cemetery by identifying two potential sites totaling over 5.70 hectares. This decision was made during the third ordinary session of the special municipal delegation on September 25, 2026.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the session involved the evaluation of a report by the ad hoc commission, which was formed previously to facilitate the establishment of the cemetery. Boubi Bako, the chairman of the commission in charge of general affairs, shared that consultations with the canton chief and various customary leaders led to the selection of the two sites.

The first site, measuring approximately 2.70 hectares, is situated behind the town hall. The second site, covering more than three hectares, is located on the road to the village of Tierkou, beyond the Tchriba dam. Ouesseni Logora, President of the special delegation, commended the commission's efforts and encouraged further negotiations to expand the designated areas, considering the city's rapid expansion.

Logora emphasized the necessity of a municipal cemetery for addressing hygiene and public health concerns. The session also included a budget orientation debate, where Logora highlighted a slight improvement in the commune's socio-economic situation. He reported an increase in the collection of the municipality's own revenue, despite challenges with cart taxes and public domain occupancy fees. This improvement was attributed to new strategies implemented with debt collection services and enhanced security service involvement.

Despite these gains, Logora urged the special delegation members to bolster their efforts in resource mobilization to further enhance municipal revenue collection. In terms of infrastructure, priorities identified included constructing street shops, rehabilitating sanitary infrastructure, and acquiring school furniture.

The special delegation members expressed their commitment to supporting initiatives that improve living conditions and promote municipal development. They also proposed organizing awareness days to foster tax compliance, community living, and social cohesion.
