Ouagadougou: The Junior Stallions of Burkina Faso will play in Group B of the West African Football Union Zone B Under 20 (WAFU-B U20) tournament, alongside Nigeria, Ghana and Togo, according to the draw held Wednesday in Abidjan, Ivory Coast.
According to Burkina Information Agency, Burkina Faso now knows its opponents for the competition scheduled from July 26 to August 9, 2026, in Yamoussoukro, Ivory Coast. Drawn into a tough group, the Junior Stallions will face Nigeria's Flying Eagles, Ghana's Black Satellites, and Togo's Junior Hawks. These three West African teams promise hard-fought matches in the race to qualify for the U-20 Africa Cup of Nations.
In preparation for this sub-regional tournament, the Burkina Faso national team, led by coach Oscar Barro, has been training in Ouagadougou for over a week. The Junior Stallions are continuing their preparations to ensure they are in top form for the competition.
Group A, consisting of three teams, includes Ivory Coast, the host country, Niger, and Benin. The WAFU-B U20 tournament will take place from July 26 to August 9, 2026, in Yamoussoukro.
