Hanoi: Following the draw for the qualifying tournament of the West African Football Union Zone B (UFOA-B), held Tuesday in Abidjan, the Colombes of the Union Sportive des Forces Arm©es (USFA) were drawn in Group A against Dynamique FC of Calavi from Benin and Association Sportive de la Kozah from Togo.
According to Burkina Information Agency, USFA women’s team, the Burkina Faso champions, play at home against opponents little known on the international stage. Group B, the “group of death,” consists of the defending zone champions, ASEC Mimosas of Abidjan, and competition regulars such as Ampem Darkoa FC of Ghana, Edo Queens FC of Nigeria, and AS Garde Nationale of Niger.
A total of seven clubs from seven countries, including Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, Nigeria, Ghana, Benin, Togo, and Niger, will compete for a single ticket to the final phase of the CAF Women’s Champions League.
