Welders from Fada N’Gourma Contribute 800,000 FCFA and Equipment to Local Development Efforts

Ouagadougou: The Fada N'Gourma Welders Association presented the Faso Mªbo Agency in Fada N'Gourma with a donation of 800,000 CFA francs, 10 armored wheelbarrows, and 20 packs of water on Saturday, July 18, 2026. Nearly one hundred welders also participated in community service work at the site.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the representative of the Fada N'Gourma welders' association, Matthieu Tompoudi, indicated that this mobilization follows the call from the President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traor, inviting Burkinabe to actively engage in development initiatives in their localities. 'The welders of Fada have mobilized to make their modest contribution to the construction of our city. In addition to financial support, we have made ten armored wheelbarrows which will be used sustainably on the construction site and offered packs of water to support the volunteers,' he said.

Beyond the material donation, nearly 100 welders took part in community service work at the Faso Mªbo site, contributing in particular to the production of paving stones and other site activities. 'No one will come and build our city for us. It is the sons and daughters of this locality who must unite their efforts to build their city. This gesture is the first in a series of actions that we intend to carry out,' according to Mr. Tompoudi.

He also invited other professional corporations, associations and all citizens to follow suit in order to sustainably support community development initiatives. This donation from the Fada N'Gourma Welders Association is part of the solidarity movement around the Faso Mªbo Agency, which has been benefiting for several weeks from the support of various organizations, companies and people of goodwill committed to the development of the city of Fada N'Gourma.
