Djibo: In a significant administrative transition, Mr. Wend Nere Wilfried Tougma has officially assumed the role of High Commissioner of Soum from Mr. Stanislas W. Bamas. The handover ceremony took place in the meeting room of the Djibo town hall on Friday, January 10, 2025.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the ceremony was presided over by Mr. Abdoul Karim Zongo, the Secretary General of the Sahel region, who is set to become the Governor of the Sahel region on Monday, January 13, 2025. During the event, Mr. Tougma expressed his gratitude to his predecessor, Mr. Bamas, for his effective leadership during his tenure.

Mr. Tougma outlined his plans to focus on enhancing security measures and promoting development initiatives within the Soum province. His approach aims to build on the foundation laid by Mr. Bamas to foster growth and stability in the region.

The Secretary-General, Mr. Zongo, praised both High Commissioners for their dedication to the region's development. He also encouraged Mr. Tougma to continue his predecessor's efforts to further advance the progress of Soum.
