Women Encouraged to Engage in Popular Progressive Revolution in Hounde

Tuy: Women called upon to actively engage in the RPP dynamic in Hounde

The National Coordination of Citizen Watch Associations (CNAVC) of Tuy organized an awareness session for women on their role and place in the dynamics of the Popular Progressive Revolution (RPP) undertaken in Burkina Faso. The event took place on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, in Hounde.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the presentation was led by Omar Traore, the representative to the Presidency of Burkina Faso for the Guiriko region. He addressed the women about civic participation, patriotic commitment, social cohesion, and the contribution of women to the implementation of the Popular Progressive Revolution (PPR).

Mr. Traore commended the strong mobilization of the women of Hounde and their interest in the event. "The testimonies gathered on site lead us to affirm that the women of Hounde are fully committed to the PPR movement," he stated. He also congratulated the CNAVC/Tuy for initiating this forum for discussion, which, according to him, contributes to strengthening women's capacities and their commitment to supporting the current momentum of the Popular Progressive Revolution.

Adeline Gnoumou, head of women's mobilization for the CNAVC/Tuy, emphasized the essential role of women as pillars of social cohesion and peace within communities. She highlighted that women, given their central role in families and communities, remain key players in civic participation.

Bachirou Saba, president of the CNAVC/Tuy, urged women not to remain on the sidelines of the progressive popular revolution, stressing that this revolution concerns all Burkinab¨, regardless of gender.
