Yii-Bisnan Association Distributes School Kits and Food to Orphans

Lo:The Yii-Bisnan association has distributed school kits and food worth 1,770,500 CFA francs to 60 orphans and vulnerable children in Lo as part of the 3rd edition of its solidarity initiative.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the distribution ceremony was held at the association's headquarters under the patronage of the Minister of Family and Solidarity, Lieutenant-Colonel Passowend Plagie Kabor, and was chaired by Twind Isaac Sia, the High Commissioner of the province. His Majesty Lio-Pio Dan-Zw, Chief of the Canton of Lo, offered blessings for peace in Burkina Faso and for the protection of its leaders.

The donation included 60 school kits, 60 bags of rice weighing 25kg each, 60 cans of oil, and pairs of shoes. Established in 2024, the Yii-Bisnan association has expanded its support from a single child to 60 beneficiaries. Beyond educational assistance, the organization provides training in skills like soap making, public speaking, and decoration. Issaka Oudraogo, the association's president, emphasized their goal to improve learning conditions for the children and to convey that being an orphan is not a tragedy, urging for continued donor support.

Betty Kientiga, director of the Ziniar Detention and Correctional Center, spoke on behalf of the sponsors, sharing a message of resilience and encouraging the children to persevere and accept support. High Commissioner Twind Isaac Sia praised the association's efforts in fostering solidarity and social cohesion and urged the children to excel academically, asserting that education is their key to the future.

A representative of the children expressed gratitude to the authorities and the association, promising to achieve good academic results.
