Young People Engage in Anti-Erosion Initiative to Foster Patriotic Values in Djibasso

Djibasso: Young people in Djibasso have been actively participating in an anti-erosion operation aimed at instilling patriotic values and promoting civic education. The initiative, organized by the 'Guardians of the Burkinabe Revolution,' took place on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at Notre Dame du Lourdes school, focusing on solidarity and patriotism among the youth.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the operation's coordinator, Inoussa Compaore, emphasized that the primary goal of this initiative is to instill solidarity and patriotism in young students. The activity involved the strategic placement of stones to slow down water runoff, which poses a threat to several local schools, including Notre Dame du Lourdes.

The initiative is inclusive, targeting students from all educational backgrounds, whether Catholic, Franco-Arab, or classical, and also reaches out to children not currently enrolled in school. Zani Marcel Dembele, speaking on behalf of the elders, expressed gratitude to the organizers and expressed hope that such initiatives would become widespread throughout Djibasso's educational community.

The community activity is part of a broader educational effort to set examples of mutual aid, solidarity, and civic engagement among children, crucial elements for achieving successful endogenous development. The 'Guardians of the Burkinabe Revolution' are committed to promoting revolutionary values and enhancing citizen vigilance in education, marking this as their second activity in this ongoing effort.
