Youth in Dissihn Engaged in Progressive and Popular Revolution Ideals

Ouagadougou: The provincial director of youth and employment of Ioba, Adou Sanou, led a conference on the Progressive and Popular Revolution (PPR) for young people from the commune of Dissihn. This session was conducted in the meeting room of the Dissihn town hall.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the awareness session aimed to educate the youth about the ideals of the progressive and popular revolution. The opening ceremony featured remarks from Kourb¨kour¨ Gaoussou Hien, the first vice-president of the special municipal delegation, who encouraged participants to rely on credible sources for information rather than social media. The local chief also offered customary blessings at the event.

Adou Sanou, the provincial director, emphasized that since April 2025, when the RPP (Rural Planning Program) was announced by national authorities, his ministry has been tasked with educating youth about the program's foundations and objectives. His presentation covered four key points: the vision for Burkina Faso, the concept of the Presidential Reform Program (PRP), reforms undertaken and presidential initiatives, and the role of youth.

Sanou explained that the RPP aims to move away from past practices, restore national sovereignty, and encourage progressive and inclusive development. He outlined the internal and external risks related to the process and detailed the ongoing reforms and six presidential initiatives.

In discussing the role of youth, Sanou identified seven areas of engagement for young people in implementing the revolution. The presentation concluded with a discussion session, where participants expressed appreciation for the initiative. They noted that the conference offered a clearer understanding of the PPR, which they see as crucial for fostering patriotic commitment.
