Ouagadougou: The youth of the village of Dagom-Koom, in the commune of Sangha, Koulplogo province, mobilized on Saturday, August 22, 2026 to rehabilitate a part of the road linking their locality to the capital of the commune, which had been severely damaged by the rains.

According to Burkina Information Agency, faced with the deterioration of this road, the young people decided to take action to improve traffic conditions. They collected stones and filled in some of the most damaged sections.

This initiative, guided by a concern for the general interest, aims to make the road more usable for residents, users and the various stakeholders who use it daily.

“It is a source of pride for us to come together to rehabilitate this road, because we cannot expect everything from the State. It is also an opportunity to bring together the young people of the village and promote citizen participation in local development,” the organizers explained.

The initiative also garnered support from users. Passersby, applaudin
g the young people’s actions, did not hesitate to join the work to encourage them and contribute to the collective effort.

At the end of the event, the young people expressed their satisfaction with the turnout. They intend to continue this momentum in the coming days through other community-based initiatives.

Through this initiative, the youth of Dagom-Koom intend to promote solidarity, civic responsibility and citizen participation in local development.
