Zabre:The president of the Zabre Special Delegation (PDS), Alain Boubie Bassono, inaugurated the 2026-2027 school year at Zourma Central School, located approximately five kilometers from Zabre. He emphasized the importance of teachers embracing their roles not only as instructors but also as educators.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the ceremony featured a sequence of events including a flag-raising, welcoming remarks, blessings from local traditional leaders, and speeches directed at attendees. Notable figures such as Harouna Gouba, representing the chief of the canton of Zabre, and Naaba Gnibga, the chief of Zourma, participated in the event, highlighting the significance of the occasion.
Inoussa Yabre, the director of Zourma school, expressed gratitude for hosting the school year's launch, acknowledging the presence of administrators and their support. Phylibert Pouya, head of the basic education district of Zabre 1, commended the participants' dedication to civic and patriotic duties, referencing Captain Ibrahim Traore's values.
The PDS urged teachers to instill in students values such as love for their country, respect for elders, and adherence to traffic laws. Alain Boubie Bassono also called on educational stakeholders to sustain their efforts to ensure successful outcomes for the two basic education districts in Zabre by the school year's end. Furthermore, he emphasized the importance of helmet use among students and road users.
The school year officially commenced on October 1, 2026, with the local launch occurring the next day. Municipal authorities had previously engaged in activities associated with the RPP (Popular Progressive Revolution) in Tenkodogo on the night of September 30, expressing satisfaction with the Head of State's four-year tenure.
