Zakaria Ouedraogo Takes Over as Provincial Director in Gourma with a Commitment to Uphold Predecessor’s Initiatives

Fada n'gourma: The High Commissioner of Gourma Province, Silas Nacanabo, officially installed Zakaria Ouedraogo as the new Provincial Director of Family and National Solidarity for Gourma. Ouedraogo pledged to continue the work of his predecessor, addressing future challenges in the region.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Ouedraogo, a social affairs administrator, succeeds Paul Yara, who served for 23 months. Staff representative Ousseini Namda commended Yara's leadership and commitment amid numerous humanitarian challenges and assured Ouedraogo of the staff's support for his mission.

Paul Yara expressed gratitude to the administrative authorities, technical and financial partners, and colleagues for their support. He emphasized that the achievements were the result of collective efforts and cooperation among various actors.

Zakaria Ouedraogo expressed gratitude to the authorities for their trust and pledged to continue the initiatives, focusing on supporting internally displaced persons, empowering vulnerable populations, and promoting national solidarity. He acknowledged the accomplishments of his predecessor, intending to build upon them to meet forthcoming challenges.

High Commissioner Silas Nacanabo congratulated Yara on the results achieved and encouraged the staff to support Ouedraogo in his mission. Nacanabo highlighted the importance of enhancing collaboration with technical and financial partners to better support vulnerable populations.
