Zondoma: National colors honored at the launch of National Citizenship Week

Gourcy, The launch of the 20th edition of National Citizenship Week (SENAC) in Gourcy was marked this Monday, October 23, 2023, by the raising of colors at the high commission of Gourcy, in the Northern region .

The 20th edition of National Citizenship Week (SENAC) is being held this year from October 23 to 27, 2023 under the theme “Citizenship in action for the reconquest of the national territory”.

Like other localities in the country, SENAC was launched this Monday, October 23, 2023 at the Gourcy high commission, through a raising of colors ceremony, chaired by the high commissioner of the province, Aboubacar Sidiki Nabé .

Mr. Nabé was surrounded by directors and heads of provincial and departmental services, heads of NGOs and associations and students from some primary and secondary schools in the town of Gourcy.

After the raising of colors provided by the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) to the rhythm of the national anthem and performed by all the participants, the High Commissioner recalled the importance and necessity for the citizen, of honor, respect and defend in all places and in all circumstances, the flag and other symbols of the nation.

“These symbols remind us that the freedom and dignity we enjoy today were acquired at the cost of failures, successes, sweat and blood and impose on us the duty of memory, recognition, vigilance.”

to add that “And above all actions to honor our share of responsibility in preserving the achievements of the sacrifices, sometimes supreme, made by our predecessors”.

Mr. Nabé invited young people to embody the values of integrity, dignity, work, etc. which have always characterized the Burkinabè people.

In addition to the national day of the flag and symbols of Faso, the first official of the province specified that the 20th of SENAC will be punctuated by other activities throughout the country during the week.
