Zorgho: The Zorgho Basic Education District (CEB) officially launched the 2025-2026 season of activities for the Organization of Sport, Culture, and Recreation in Primary Schools (OSCLEP) at the Loundogo 'A' school grounds. The event was presided over by the Head of the Basic Education District, Mr. Raogo Jean Claude Ouedraogo.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the Community Education Center of Zorgho (CCEB) highlighted the initiative's purpose, led by the Ministry of Basic Education. The sports and cultural activities aim to educate students in various sports and cultural disciplines. For this edition, the Zorgho CEB will participate in football, athletics, traditional dance, lip-syncing, and other cultural activities.
The head of the CEB stressed the educational and civic importance of these activities. They serve as unifying events that prepare children for citizenship and national pride. Despite financial challenges, the commitment of schools and partners remains steadfast, with teachers and educators contributing to the sponsorship.
The organizational structure was presented by the Secretary General of the OSCLEP office, Mahamoudou Sedego, who announced the participation of 78 teams in the football competition. The competition will feature knockout stages and is organized into four zones within Zorgho. Teams consist of students from grades 1 to 5.
The initiative aims to combine sport, culture, and education, preparing students to be engaged, disciplined, and community-aware. The opening match saw the Amitie "A" school team defeat the Zorgho Nord school team 2-0, marking the beginning of the season's activities.
