Zoundweogo/Jeppc 2026: Civic Responsibility and Local Consumption Highlighted at Public Conference in Gogo

Zoundweogo: As part of the National Days of Patriotic Engagement and Citizen Participation (JEPPC), the Regional Directorate in charge of Human Rights of Nazinon, in partnership with the Basic Education District (CEB) of Gogo, organized a public conference at the Non-Formal Basic Education Center (CEBNF) of Gogo on Wednesday, April 8, 2026. The conference aimed to emphasize civic responsibility and promote local consumption among participants.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the Regional Director of Preschool, Primary and Non-Formal Education for Nazinon, Adama Congo, commended the participants for their active involvement. He reiterated that the event is part of the JEPPC initiative, which commenced on March 26, 2026. Mr. Congo encouraged attendees, including learners, to attentively engage with the presentations and uphold exemplary citizenship by respecting national laws and supporting local products.

The conference featured two key presentations. Assami Ouedraogo, head of department at the Regional Directorate in charge of Human Rights of Nazinon, delivered the first presentation on "Civic-mindedness and citizen participation," emphasizing the daily responsibilities of citizens. The second presentation, led by Adjaratou Tiendrebeogo, centered on the theme "Let's produce Burkinab¨, let's consume Burkinab¨: our plate, our pride," underscoring the significance of local consumption in bolstering the national economy and achieving food sovereignty.

Dominique Dipama, the Provincial Director of Preschool, Primary and Non-Formal Education in Zoundweogo, encouraged participants to apply the insights gained and become responsible citizens contributing to national development. The conference concluded with a tasting session of local dishes, fostering a friendly environment for discussions on civic responsibility and citizen participation, while advocating for local consumption.
