Zoundweogo: The President of the Special Delegation (PDS) of the Gogo municipality, Issa Tiendrebeogo, presided over the solemn raising of the national flag on Tuesday, February 3, 2026. On this occasion, he called upon the active forces of the municipality to rid themselves of corruption in all its forms.According to Burkina Information Agency, community leaders and the Gogo Defense and Security Forces (FDS) participated in the flag-raising ceremony held at the Gogo district police station. The event featured a tour of the police station and a speech by the District Police Chief. The police commissioner of the Gogo district, Yves Ouedraogo, noted that the police station includes the judicial and administrative police services, which are supported by the Volunteers for the Defence of the Homeland (VDP) in securing the municipal territory.Mr. Ouedraogo thanked the population for their open collaboration and urged them to continue in this spirit to facilitate the security mission. The PDS highlighted the st rong turnout as a sign of the people's love for the motherland and urged established institutions to rid themselves of corruption, describing it as a hindrance to development.The municipal authority expressed gratitude to all constituted bodies for their support of governmental and local initiatives, citing the "One village, one motorcycle for the benefit of the FDS and the VDP" initiative, which has raised nine million nine hundred seventy-one thousand five hundred CFA francs (9,971,500 CFA francs) since its launch on April 24, 2025.In closing, the PDS called on public servants to serve the State with loyalty, exemplary conduct, and neutrality. A contribution was also requested from public employees for purchasing a sound system and microphones for the flag-raising ceremonies, raising one hundred and forty thousand CFA francs (140,000 CFA francs) on site.
