Zoundweogo: The PDS of the Gogo Commune Calls on Constituted Bodies to Rid Themselves of Corruption

Zoundweogo: The President of the Special Delegation (PDS) of the Gogo municipality, Issa Tiendrebeogo, presided over the solemn raising of the national flag on Tuesday, February 3, 2026. On this occasion, he called upon the active forces of the municipality to rid themselves of corruption in all its forms.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the community leaders and the Gogo Defense and Security Forces (FDS) participated in the flag-raising ceremony held at the Gogo district police station. The event included the flag-raising ceremony, a tour of the police station, and a speech by the District Police Chief (PDS).

In his presentation, the police commissioner of the Gogo district, Yves Ouedraogo, indicated that the police station comprises the judicial police service and the administrative police. He specified that these services are supported by the Volunteers for the Defence of the Homeland (VDP) in securing the municipal territory.

Mr. Ouedraogo expressed gratitude to the population for their collaborative spirit and urged them to continue in this manner to facilitate the security mission. For the PDS, the strong turnout demonstrated the people's commitment to the motherland. He urged established institutions to eliminate corruption, which he identified as an obstacle to development.

He also reminded various department heads of the importance of the flag-raising ceremony as a civic duty, emphasizing the need for everyone's presence during these solemn occasions. The municipal authority thanked all constituted bodies for supporting governmental and local initiatives, highlighting the "One village, one motorcycle for the benefit of the FDS and the VDP" program, which has raised nine million nine hundred seventy-one thousand five hundred CFA francs (9,971,500 CFA francs) since its launch on April 24, 2025.

In conclusion, he called on public servants to serve the State with loyalty, exemplary conduct, and neutrality. In alignment with the RPP spirit, a contribution was requested from public employees for purchasing a sound system and microphones for the flag-raising ceremonies, raising one hundred and forty thousand CFA francs (140,000 CFA francs) on site.
