Gaoua: The urban commune of Gaoua launched its very first edition of Community Day this Friday. The event was placed under the patronage of Mr. Siaka BARRO, Governor of the South-West region, the sponsorship of His Majesty Bifat© II, Chief of the canton of Gaoua, and the presidency of Mr. Siaka OUATTARA, President of the Special Delegation of the commune.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the initiative is themed "Peace and social cohesion in Burkina Faso: what contributions can young people make to building a prosperous and sovereign nation?". It aims to strengthen community life, promote a culture of peace, and enhance cultural identities. The president of the special delegation praised the commitment of the communities and encouraged young people to play an active role in bringing people together. He emphasized that this day is intended to be a framework for exchanges and fraternity between the different components of the municipality.
The festivities began in Revolution Square in a friendly atmosphere. Gaoua's communities showcased their cultural wealth through culinary and clothing exhibitions, as well as traditional dance performances. Activities will continue until May 24, including an aerobics session and a public lecture on peace and social cohesion.
