Ouagadougou: The best students of the Song-taaba high school in Ouagadougou, who distinguished themselves during the 2024-2025 school year, were rewarded yesterday, Saturday, with school kits and bicycles.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the Song-taaba high school in Ouagadougou, in collaboration with the Parents' Association (APE) and the alumni association, celebrated its 2024-2025 Day of Excellence on Saturday, May 31, 2025. The organizers see this day as an opportunity to honor courage, diligence, merit, perseverance, and the thirst for learning.

The event is not only a prize-giving ceremony but also a symbol of a discreet yet powerful daily commitment to success. The Principal of Faissal Tapsoba High School stated that this initiative has made it possible to reward the best students and encourage others to persevere in their efforts. "We are holding this day to recognize the merit of certain students and teachers. It is also to encourage those who are always lagging behind to do as those who came in first tonight," he said.

During the celebration, the principal expressed gratitude to all his colleagues, partners, and the people of goodwill who contributed to the success of this celebration of academic excellence for the 2024-2025 school year.

The president of the parents' association (APE), Issa Minoungou, emphasized that the day dedicated to excellence at the Song-taaba high school is an opportunity for parents to salute all the staff and brave fighters against ignorance, who, despite the high numbers, open up to the training of the future citizens of the country. He thanked the partners who supported the organization of this ceremony, expressing gratitude for enabling some students to go on vacation with the hope of maintaining or returning to the podium next year for more awards.

He also congratulated the winners and urged them to be more disciplined and hardworking, extending encouragement to the candidates for the various exams.

One of the winners and a final year student, Vincent Zidwemba, expressed his honor in receiving the award. "It's a source of great pride, but also a great responsibility. This distinction motivates me even more to persevere, to continue learning, and to give the best of myself," he admitted. He sincerely thanked his teachers for their guidance, as well as his family and friends for their constant support.
