Burkina Faso Traders Bolster Development Initiative with Significant Contribution

Ouagadougou: Traders at the large market in Ouagadougou have made a substantial contribution to the Presidential Initiative (PI) Faso Mªbo, providing materials worth nearly 5 million CFA francs to support the country's development.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the Association of Small Traders of Rood Wooko in the Burkinabe capital donated sand, cement, and aggregates valued at nearly 5 million euros. This gesture is part of a broader effort to aid the government's extensive program aimed at cleaning up various cities and fostering the development of Burkina Faso.

The traders' contribution, which consists of 40 tons of granite, 40 tons of sand, and 35 tons of cement, amounts to 4 million 407 thousand 500 FCFA. Sayouba Sawadogo, the spokesperson for the traders, emphasized their commitment to responding to the call of the Head of State, Captain Ibrahim Traor©, regarding the Presidential Initiative, which is a concern for all Burkinab©.

Sawadogo also encouraged other market traders and Yaars to join in supporting Faso Mªbo to achieve the intended goals in terms of sanitation and urbanization of cities. He reiterated the traders' readiness to back the initiative for the construction of Burkina Faso.

Dapoya Naaba Tanga of Nomgana praised the authorities for creating the initiative to foster development in Faso. He expressed the traders' intention to continue their support for Faso Mªbo in the future.

Zalissa Niki¨ma, representing the Rood Wooko women, urged traders in the capital to follow their lead in making the Presidential Initiative successful. "We hope that God will give the people of Burkina Faso the means to contribute to Faso Mªbo," she stated.

In addition to the traders' contribution, the Association of Water and Forest Retirees presented a ton of cement, 20 tree seedlings, and 20 gates valued at approximately 150,000 FCFA. Launched in October 2024 by the Head of State, Faso Mªbo aims to modernize national infrastructure and promote both rural and urban development.
