Burkinabe Football Federation Launches Futsal Training for Sports Professionals

Bobo-dioulasso: The Burkinabe Football Federation (FBF) launched a 48-hour training course on Wednesday in Bobo-Dioulasso, focusing on the rules and practices of Futsal for approximately twenty participants, including coaches, players, and referees. Futsal is a variation of football, played indoors or on a small pitch with specific rules.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the training aims to equip participants with skills in coaching, refereeing, and promoting this sport. The opening ceremony was presided over by Mr. J©r´me Tiendr©b©ogo, who represents the President of the Burkinabe Football Federation. During the event, he urged participants to engage thoroughly with the training modules to help establish futsal in Burkina Faso.

Mr. Baba Dayo, the patron of the Western Regional Commission, expressed his support for the implementation of this discipline in the Guiriko region. He also highlighted the importance of providing appropriate infrastructure for the sport's stakeholders.

A Futsal competition is scheduled for August 23 and 24, 2025, in Bobo-Dioulasso, designed to allow participants to apply their newly acquired knowledge. The Burkinabe Football Federation aims to establish a structured development framework for Futsal in Burkina Faso.
