China Implements Targeted Assistance Policy to Boost Agricultural Production

Beijing: The targeted assistance policy, based on strong partnerships between universities and the rural world, is being implemented in China to increase agricultural production necessary for food self-sufficiency and exports. In a presentation on the Chinese nation, former Chinese diplomat Sun Jiwen explained the country's development model for agricultural production.

According to Burkina Information Agency, targeted assistance involves establishing partnerships between agricultural universities and rural areas to increase agricultural production. As part of its agricultural development policy, the Chinese government has established specialized universities. To ensure food self-sufficiency in rural areas, it relies on the support of students from these universities. Trained in modern techniques, these students are deployed in the countryside to support farmers in their activities, thereby increasing local agricultural production.

This practice allows farmers to achieve food self-sufficiency. Local consumption and the establishment of product processing units are also encouraged by the authorities. Since August 11, around twenty Burkinabe journalists have been participating in a seminar to share their experiences in the press sector. It was during this seminar that the Chinese development process was explained to the participants.
