Ouagadougou: The Ministry of National Education welcomed the government's decision to integrate 300 early childhood educators and 479 primary school teachers into the civil service, highlighting the recognition of the "exemplary commitment and sacrifice" of these "Volunteers for the Defense of Education (VDP)" who have kept educational paths open in areas with high security challenges.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the ministry emphasized that this integration is a demonstration of the government's intent to reward these teachers' dedication while also strengthening the national educational framework amidst security and social challenges. The decision was validated by the Council of Ministers on August 13, 2025, acknowledging the efforts of these community teachers who ensured educational continuity in regions severely affected by insecurity.
In total, 300 early childhood educators and 479 primary school teachers, all possessing the Teaching Aptitude Certificate (CAP), will officially join the civil service. This integration is based on their qualifications and adheres to current regulations. The ministry noted that integrating 300 early childhood educators is crucial for enhancing preschool education, which plays a vital role in preparing young children for formal learning. This institutional recognition is expected to enhance educational supervision and provide a solid educational foundation for children.
The transition of 479 community primary school teachers to public agent status is seen as a significant acknowledgment of the educators who have maintained educational continuity despite facing insecurity. Their integration is anticipated to stabilize the primary teaching workforce and sustainably improve education quality in the most vulnerable areas.
Additionally, the Council of Ministers announced an "exceptional recruitment" of 1,367 agents for the year 2025, including 778 through direct competition without training and 589 by selection on files, to address development challenges.
