Poni: The Regional Special Delegation Outlines Its Development Priorities for 2026

Poni: Meeting in the third ordinary session of the year, the members of the Dj´r´ Regional Special Delegation, under the chairmanship of Siaka BARRO, defined the main development guidelines for the year 2026, while adopting important deliberations. During the two days of work on August 27 and 28, 2025, several key decisions were made.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the participants examined several points and took two decisions. One decision concerned the reorganization of the standing committees of the regional special delegation. The other decision involved the withdrawal of the region from the International Association of Francophone Regions (AIRF), in alignment with national directives.

The session also included budgetary orientation debates aimed at outlining the development vision for the year 2026. In addition to the discussions, participants visited the Regional Council's construction sites and the Councillor's hotel. Members also received communications on the National Rural Electrification Strategy and the missions of the National Agency for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (ANEREE).

Closing the proceedings, Siaka BARRO, the president of the special delegation, praised the mobilization and diligence of the participants. He also urged them to continue their efforts towards achieving the regional development objectives.
